उत्तर प्रदेश की योगी सरकार द्वारा साधुओं को पेंशन देने की घोषणा के बाद पत्रकारों ने पत्रकारिता छोड़ साधू बनने की घोषणा की है। पिछले पंद्रह वर्षों से उत्तर प्रदेश मान्यता प्राप्त संवाददाता समिति सहित कई पत्रकार संगठन मीडिया समूहो से नौकरी में रिटायर्ड और बुजुर्ग पत्रकारों को पेश देने की मांग विभिन्न सरकारों से करते रहे हैं। देश के तमाम राज्यों में पत्रकारों को पेंशन देने का सिलसिला शुरू हो चुका है किन्तु उत्तर प्रदेश में बुजुर्ग पत्रकारों के हक में ऐसा फैसला नहीं हुआ।अब जब उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने साधुओं को भी पेंशन देने की घोषणा कर दी है तो ऐसे में पत्रकार संगठनों ने पत्रकारों को पेंशन दिये जाने की मांग तेज कर दी है। पत्रकार नेताओं का कहना है कि लम्बे अर्से से उत्तर प्रदेश की सरकारों से पेंशन की जायज मांग करते रहे हैं। लेकिन किसी भी पार्टी की सरकार ने हमारी मांगों पर गौर नहीं किया। आज मीडिया संस्थानों से रिटायर्ड पत्रकारों की आर्थिक स्थिति बेहद बुरी है। ऐसे हालात में पत्रकारों के बुरे हालात देखकर युवा पत्रकारिता के क्षेत्र में नहीं आना चाहते। अब जब योगी सरकार ने साधुओं को भी पेंशन देने का ऐलान किया है तो ऐसे में रिटार्डमेंट की तरफ बढ़ रहे तमाम पत्रकार साधु बनकर अपने बुढ़ापे में पेंशन हासिल करना चाहते हैं। ताकि वे दो वक्त की रोटी का इंतजाम कर सकें।
पत्रकारों के संगठन राज्य मुख्यालय मान्यता प्राप्त पत्रकार एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष अजय वर्मा, सचिव कतील शेख और उपाध्यक्ष संजय चौबे ने आज ऐलान किया कि यदि सरकार ने पत्रकारों को पेंशन देने का फैसला नहीं किया तो वो पत्रकारिता छोड़ साधू बन जायेंगे। आल इंडिया न्यूजपेपर एसोसिएशन (आईना) के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष मोहम्मद कामरान, प्रदेश अध्यक्ष नजम, महासचिव शेखर पंडित और कोषाध्यक्ष मोहम्मद वसीम सहित दर्जनों पदाधिकारियों ने भी पेंशन की चाहत में अखबार छोड़कर साधू बनने का फैसला किया है। इसी तरह दर्जनों पत्रकारों और पत्रकार संगठन एक बार फिर पत्रकारों की पेंशन के लिए प्रदेश सरकार से मांग करते हुए साधु के भेंष में ज्ञापन सौंपेंगे।
