स्वाभाविक है कि इतने सिरदर्द से गुजरने पर मां बाप उसके अच्छे परिणाम भी चाहेंगे, जो बच्चे के रिपोर्ट कार्ड में ही मिल सकता है। यह सारी बातें ठीक है लेकिन बच्चे की पढ़ाई अच्छी होनी चाहिए और इसके लिए अपनी सामर्थ्य के अनुसार धन भी खर्च करना चाहिए तथा बच्चों की तैयारी में अभिभावकों को भी अधिकाधिक सहायता करनी चाहिए। समस्या तब आती है जब अपनी उम्मीदें पूरी करने के लिए माता-पिता हर समय बच्चे पर मानसिक दबाव बनाए रहते हैं। कई बार यह दबाव विपरीत परिणाम देते हैं। इसका मुख्य कारण बच्चे की सामर्थ से अधिक की उम्मीद करना।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का इस बारे में यह बेहद सटीक कथन है कि बच्चों को रोबोट नहीं बनने दें उसके रिपोर्ट कार्ड को अपना विजिटिंग कार्ड ना बनाएं पढ़ाई जैसे भी एक सहज स्वाभाविक प्रक्रिया है तथा बाल मन को इस मामले में उसी तरह के व्यवहार करने में मार्गदर्शन प्रशिक्षण आवश्यक है किंतु संतुलित ढंग से।
