मेरी गरीबी देखकर उन्हें तरस आ गया
बोले आज से आप हमारी शरण में।।
मुझे भी वह अपना सा लगा, गले मिले पैर छुवे
बोले आज आपने क्या खाया
मैंने कहा अभी कुछ नहीं।।
खाने ही जा रहा था कि आप आ गए
बोले भाई आज हम दोनों मिलकर खायेंगें,
क्या बनाया है, मैंने कहा सब्जी रोटी।।
उन्होंने कहा लगाओं थाली और बुला लो फोटोग्राफर
सकपकाकर मैंने कहा भैया दो ही रोटी हैं
फिर भी उन्होंने कहा लगा लो थाली।।
थाली लगाते वह और उनके साथी खाने पर टूट पड़े
बोलें वाह! क्या स्वादिस्ट खाना खाते हो
और खुद को गरीब बताते हो ।।
इतना कहकर उन्होंने हाथ जोड़ा, और चलते बने
मैं भूखा का भूखा ही रह गया
मेरी रोटी मारकर वह बेशरम खा गया।।
